How to Increase Your Mind Power by being a Whole-brain Thinker Using the Technique of Mind Mapping

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

The term ‘ambidexterity’ means being adept in using both right and left hand. It is a rare inborn trait but it can be learned. The versatility displayed in the use of each hand determines a person’s ambidexterity. Michelangelo, Leonardo Vinci, Einstein, Fleming, Harry Truman, etc., were all ambidextrous. In modern times, you will find many, who were originally left-handed but in the course of their childhood, acquired right-handed habits (at school or home) and thus became ambidextrous.

Along the same lines, we could say we are being ambidextrous when we are multi-tasking – talking over the phone and taking notes or riding a bike, etc. The difference being that instead of our hands, we are using both our right and left hemispheres to successfully juggle our tasks. We have all heard about some people being ‘right-brained’ or ‘left-brained’. In essence it means that the person displays more ‘right-brain’ or ‘left-brain’ oriented skills, although we are all the time integrating both hemispheres in our daily activities.

‘Right’ brain qualities involve imagination, risk taking, artistic abilities, highly philosophical, creative, etc. ‘Left’ brain qualities, on the other hand, are practical, conformist, seek order, have good comprehension skills, etc. Thus ‘right-brain’ people are said to think subjectively, holistically and have strong intuition, while ‘left-brain’ people tend to be more logical, analytical and highly rational. It is found that more often, left-brain thinkers are engineers and scientists, while right-brain thinkers end up being artists and poets.

How and why is it that some people are more adept at certain kind of thought patterns than others? The fact is that while we may inherit certain mental traits and capacities, how we use our mind is what determines our mental prowess. As children we are innately right-brained, displaying great creativity, imagination, spontaneity, open-mindedness and enthusiasm but ironically, as we grow, social, cultural and racial influences constrain these natural traits.

The most comforting thought however is that we can greatly improve our mental abilities by choosing to change our thoughts and applying our mind in a particular direction. Thus if a person is a known conformist, who always walks down the beaten path, he could deliberately try new things, learn to take risks and think imaginatively.

When we combine the power of the two hemispheres, we will be working at our full potential. Ambidextrous mind or whole brain thinking - as it is also known - enhances our brain functions and injects a heightened level of awareness. To foster an ambidextrous mindset, we can work on right-brain learning activities by including patterning, metaphors, analogies, role-playing, visuals, and movement into reading, calculation, and analytical activities. Conscious effort to incorporate left and right brain activities, human consciousness studies, reflective thinking and meditation are excellent means to achieve an ambidextrous mind.

One easy technique that helps in such whole-brain thinking process is Mind Mapping. It aligns the mind to the diffusion of thought and paves way for streaming thoughts and linking new associations. Association essentially is finding the links in logic and ideas, and when these are explored in full, it leads to insight, imagination and creativity.

If we look at great discoveries, we will find the application or association of principle (s) to another. Pertinently, colors, pictures, symbols, etc., highly enhance our learning process as they invoke vividness, clarity of perception and easy dissemination. Mind Mapping technique employs all these aspects and therein lies its power and dynamism. When learning and understanding is done using the Mind Map technique, it naturally becomes a highly effective and powerful way of gaining knowledge. It sure is an ideal way for fostering an ambidextrous or whole brain thinking culture.

Learn to Use Your Own Mind Power to Accelerate Your Weight Loss and Fitness Results

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

You might wonder what mind power has to do with women's fitness, women's health and weight loss, after all, isn't it about what you eat and how much you exercise? Eating and exercise are certainly two thirds of the equation, but the remaining component is in your head, literally!

Motivation, desire, expectation and visualization are key concepts that, when understood and utilized, can be powerful ammunition that will accelerate your results. Motivation to exercise and lose weight is probably what brought you to this page in the first place. However, maintaining or renewing your motivation to exercise can be a fleeting thing. It's all too easy to become discouraged. There are a few tips on this subject in our article on motivation to exercise. Now I want to describe how mind power can drastically affect the speed and results of your fitness/weight loss program.

If you've never read Deepak Chopras' views and explanations of the mind-body connection in such books as 'Quantum Healing' or 'The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire' you should really consider doing so. His explanations of mind power are very involved and insightful, much more so than I'll write here as he has written whole books on the concept. This really is powerful stuff!

Expectation and visualization are not often mentioned in fitness programs but they should be as mind power, or the influence of the mind over the body is much stronger than most people realize. When you focus the power of your mind on the goal you seek, you will begin to influence the events that will produce the desired results.

Sounds a little like magic but this power of positive thinking has worked in documented cases involving advanced and 'incurable' cancer (as well as other diseases) to spontaneously cause the body to heal itself when conventional medicine had failed.

Why not direct this power toward all of your goals?

I am going to give you some instructions on how to use this 'mind power', which everyone possesses but few take advantage of, to reach your fitness and weight loss goals.

Draw a clear picture of your goals.

Your purpose (goal) in persuing a fitness plan should be written down. -eg- I will again be able to fit into a size 4 dress..(yeah right!, like I ever could!) or losing 15 lbs of fat or gaining the necessary strength or endurance to enter a competition. Your goals will be individual and they will be moving targets, that is when you achieve them (and you will) you set your sites on a new goal. The clear expectation that you will achieve your goals is a necessary part of 'mind power' so repeat it out loud every day.

Adjust from mere hoping and wishing to 'Expectation'.

Goals and program firmly in hand, your desire to achieve your goals become an expectation. You will drop that 25lbs., you will again fit into that favourite dress, you will do what is necessary to land that job (you see, this technique works for all areas of your life). This positive mindset goes beyond desire and represents your commitment to succeed.

Visualization

Here's where mind power really shines and it's kind of fun. Paint an image in your mind of what you will look like and perform like upon reaching your goals. Take a 'before' picture to hang on frig and visualize what the 'after' picture will look like. Focus on that vision with intense concentration and do it often, everyday in fact.

Clear goals, expectations and visualization will all help to create and sustain the drive to push forward. The war is won one battle at a time and you will win!

Discipline Ah, that naughty word, the lack of which causes many to falter. As failure is not an option in this scenario, you are going to follow the program faithfully. (don't worry, it's not that difficult) You will set aside the time each day that is best for you to workout and it will become your own religion. After a couple of weeks you will find that it becomes a habit and that is the key! Keep that vision in your mind. Remember that discipline will make the difference between success and failure.

Practice, Practice, Practice! Ok, this visualization and mind power thing might seem a little far fetched, but ask anyone who practices meditation and you will learn of increased ability to focus and decreased stress in addition to many other benefits. Ask how often they practice meditation and most will repond 'daily'.

Every day you should set aside a short time to quietly put your mind power to work. Do it before your regular workout session if possible. Think of it is a form of meditation, almost self-hypnosis that will help you maintain your focus and reinforce your motivation. Sit quietly, relax your thoughts and body (don't fall asleep), clear your head of the days chaos and concentrate on that body that will be yours. Absorb yourself in your visualization firmly believing it will come to pass.

And it will!

How To Command Instant Mind Power

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

So you want to know how to command instant mind power? Well, the truth is that you already have the mind power; it’s just that you probably do not know how to command it! This article will give you a simple explanation as to how your subconscious thoughts affect your reality, and how you can change it…

You should know that there are many different ways through which you can tap into the power of your subconscious mind. For example, you can use hypnosis, affirmations, subliminal messages, neuro-linguistic programming, visualization etc. Giving you an explanation on how these different methods work would be too much for this article, but what I will give you is the basic concept which is the foundation of all these methods.

So now for an example, lets take something you may want. Money? You are thinking ‘I want money’. Notice the word ‘want’ in that sentence. So your subconscious feeling is ‘wanting money’, and as you keep repeating it, you experience the “want” of money! Pretty simple rule isn’t it? It is said that we have more than 50,000 thoughts in a single day! How many of them are about wanting or needing something? Think about that for a while...

Let us take another example. This time you say something like ‘I have an abundance of wealth’, but your subconscious habit might be to counter it with ‘But I am not worthy of wealth’. The thought which wins, would be the one most repeated by you, and therefore creating that particular reality. So as you can see, repetition is the keyword here. That’s it!

So now you know the foundation on which all mind power methods are based on. Now all you have to do is change your subconscious thought patterns, and then change your life!

Use Mind Power - Train Your Mind for Personal Growth, Development and Success

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

There are many aspects to personal growth and development that are important if you are to be successful. You will need to learn new skills, you will need to develop a positive attitude and stay focussed on achieving your objective.

One vital aspect of personal growth and development is that you need to train your mind. Unless you develop a mind that equal to the demands of greater success, your success will be short lived.

Like the legend of Icarus, you may find a way of soaring up to the clouds, but if you don?t have the right mindset you will find that you can?t cope with your new situation and you will crash back to Earth. Some people go through this cycle time and time again without realising that they need to use mind power to develop their strength of character and success mindset.

There are a number of areas where you may need to use mind power for personal growth and development.

Can you believe it, is it important to you?

Your beliefs ? what you believe to be true, and your values ? what is important to you have a very powerful effect in your behaviour. If you are trying to achieve something that is in conflict with either of these two areas, you will find it difficult or even impossible to achieve long term success.

The most troublesome area is limiting beliefs ? statements that begin with ?I can?t??, ?I?m not?? or any other negative phrase. If you believe you can?t earn more that $3000 in a month, you will almost certainly find it very difficult to break through this income barrier.

If maintaining a good relationship with your colleagues at work is important and you believe that the promotion you are hoping for will mean that you can no longer be friendly, you will find it hard to drive yourself to get the promotion.

How has your mind been trained?

At a deeper level, we have all been conditioned since childhood and we have habits of thought that are deeply ingrained in our minds. Many of these habits are good for you ? checking that there is no traffic when you cross the street is good for your survival!

However you have also probably picked up many habits of thought that are not beneficial. Sometimes these habits express themselves as limiting beliefs. Sometimes your habits of thought affect the way that you process and respond to information as you receive it through your senses. Are you a person who always look for problems or do you habitually try to find solutions?

Your mind has been ?trained? by many influences ? your parents, your society, your culture, your experiences in life. You will need to examine your thought processes very carefully to detect the subtle influences of your past conditioning.

Use your mind power to overcome your barriers to success

As you have seen, your mind can have many barriers to success built in to it. You may have limiting beliefs that prevent you from getting the results you want. Some of your past conditioning may give you habits of thought that will hinder your progress. You will need to take the time to identify potential problems and then find ways to eliminate them.

The best tool you have to eliminate the barriers to personal growth and development is your own mind. If you use mind power you can overcome any obstacle that you create for yourself.

The challenge you may have is knowing where to start and how to train your mind. There are many good personal growth and development tools available today. There is a selection of tools to help you use mind power to clear away barriers.

You can get a free e-course the success principle. Visit my website for more resources, articles, and support materials about success and personal growth.

Mind Power Unleashed

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

Mind power means many different things to different people. Generally when people speak of mind power they mean having the ability to use the usually hidden parts of their mind to bring about change in either themselves, other people or the situation in which they find themselves.

There are a few basic principles which form the foundation of any system of mind power which are absolutely critical to your success. I'd like to explore them with you.

The first principle is that mind is creative, the early writers on the powers of the mind all agreed that we create results in our lives through our thoughts. This seems obvious, but how many of us have really applied this principle to our own lives? The images, thoughts and feelings that we experience are the cause and not the effect of the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Our second principle is that the power comes from the unconscious, deeper level of our minds. By holding the thoughts of what we desire in our conscious minds, the instructions are sent to the unconscious to do all of the hard work in bringing about the changes that we need.

The final principle is that to create real mind power we have to train our brain to run the way that we want it to run. The unconscious has been conditioned since childhood to form beliefs about what can and can't be achieved and by using a system of training we can begin to change those beliefs - unleashing our mind power faster than we may have thought possible.

Develop Your Subconscious Mind Power

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel passes through the conscious mind and reaches the subconscious mind where it is then stored.

Once you have learned how best to deal with a situation, you will generally find it much easier the next time around. This is because you are using information which is already stored.

For instance, once you have learned to ride a bike, you don?t have to consciously think about it anymore. This is because the stored information will come to you automatically, the next time you get on your bike to ride it.

Just as if you were to learn where each letter on your keyboard is, you can now type without looking because you have formed a mental picture in your subconscious mind of what the keyboard actually looks like.

The above are just two instances of how the subconscious mind stores up relations of learned behaviour. We are sure you would be able to find many more examples of this in your everyday life!

Information from the conscious mind gets past into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. It is said that everything you have ever seen, heard or experienced is perceived by your conscious mind, and then stored away into your subconscious mind as a memory.

Not only is this memory stored as the incident itself, but also any feelings that went with it at the time are also stored.

Your subconscious mind does not only store your memories and feelings. It is the maker of all the great ideas you have ever had, and is also the seat of your intuition and creativity. When you do begin to control your conscious thought processes, you will find that you can apply the powers of your subconscious mind towards any problem or difficulty you may come across.

Most of the great artists, poets, writers, scientists, inventors and discovers have had or have a deep understanding of how their conscious and subconscious mind work. The ones that do not unknowingly set their genius to work for them when they tapped into their subconscious mind power by instinct.

You see, the Einsteins and Edisons were not that much smarter that the average person, writes psychology professor Dean Simonton.

After conducting many studies of intelligence and creativity, Professor Simonton has found that there is no real relationship between our IQ and creativity. Most of the celebrated minds of history, Simonton believes, simply made better use of their subconscious mind power.

Just by having a basic knowledge and understanding of how your conscious and subconscious mind work, and also how they interact with each other, you will be able to work wonders in your life. The possibilities truly are endless!

Gardening Your Mind. Part 1 - Your First Steps to Personal Power, Wellbeing and Achievement

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

Our words and thoughts are like seeds planted in our mind - the good ones grow and flourish, and we will gain fantastic benefits when they do.

But the negative words and thoughts - well they can grow too. And like weeds in a garden, they'll choke and stunt the growth of our better selves. When the weeds of negative language are rampant in our mind it's impossible for our abilities and achievements to blossom to their full potential.

It's time for a little gardening. Some weeding here, some planting there can make a huge difference to our performance and sense of wellbeing. So much so that you'd be crazy not to do it. How to spot the weeds

Some of the weeds of negative self-talk can be very obvious, and yet just as in a real garden they can grow tall without us even noticing them. And that's not all - every instance of negative self talk sows its own seeds to make sure that there are always plenty more to come.

Here's one of the more serious weeds, and what to plant in its place.

Calling yourself names - the Useless Idiot Bindweed

The trouble with calling yourself names is that your subconscious begins to believe it. We make a mistake or do something wrong and immediately we're telling ourselves we're useless, an idiot, a klutz - or all three. And that's when we're being mild!

The trouble with this kind of talk, apart from it gradually lowering your self esteem, is that it stops you from learning from your mistakes. With this kind of talk you already know why you sliced your golf drive, forgot to make that important call or lost that sale. It's because you're an idiot - and you know what? - you'll just go and do it again as soon as you get chance. This kind of thinking condemns you to a self-supporting cycle of failure and self abuse. We begin to accept it as a truth.

How to weed it - Pattern Breaking

This is a simple technique that will make those self-abusive thoughts wither and die. First of all listen to yourself more carefully to become aware of when they sprout up. When you hear one, say to yourself 'STOP' and replace it with a positive thought. It's helpful here to break the pattern with an action as well as the word. So snapping your fingers, clapping your hands or slapping your leg all work well.

What to plant

We want to plant something more positive. An affirmation, a simple positive statement about yourself, can be brilliant here. Telling yourself something like: 'that's not like me - I'll do better next time,' can be very helpful. A good way of designing your affirmation is to listen to your own special 'idiot' statement and form the positive opposite. So instead of 'I'm a clumsy dope,' you might come up with 'I am careful and intelligent.' Don't worry if you don't necessarily believe the statement at the moment - we're planting seeds remember, and the seed is not the fully grown plant. With repetition those seeds will begin to grow.

It's even more productive to also view your mistake as a learning opportunity. Get into the habit of reviewing the situation that led to your error. This can take a little courage at first, but telling yourself 'I can learn from this,' and then applying that learning the next time will really get your own internal garden growing. With practice not only will you be doing things differently and much better, you'll be starting to value yourself a whole lot more in the process.

So don't you owe it to yourself to start your gardening now?

See part 2 for more tips on weeding out the negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones.

The Mind's Power To Make You Sick

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

?There is a growing tendency upon the part of the best informed physicians and other health practitioners, to accept the theory that all diseases begin when the brain of the individual is in a depleted or devitalized state. Stated in another way, it is a known fact that a person who has a perfectly vitalized brain is practically, if not entirely, immune from all manner of disease. Every intelligent health practitioner, of whatever school or type, knows that ?Nature? or the mind cures disease in every instance where a cure is effected. Medicines, faith, laying on of hands, chiropractic, osteopathy and all other forms of outside stimulant are nothing more than artificial aids to NATURE, or, to state it correctly, mere methods to the end that it readjusts the cells and tissues of the body, revitalizes the brain and otherwise causes the human machine to function normally.?

This was written by none other than Napoleon Hill in 1928. Yes, you read correctly, in 1928!!!

Back in those days, advanced minds such as Napoleon Hill?s were already aware of the power of the mind over the body. Negative thoughts, when they happen outside of our awareness, and are not externalized, tend to fester in the body. Negative emotions have been proven to release negative neuropeptides that affect the ability of the immune system to carry its work of defending the body against viruses, bacteria and the development of tumors. A harmonized mind is a mind that thinks positive thoughts, that has learned to externalize all powerful emotions so that the person can accept his feelings, deal with them and move on. A harmonized mind also leads a person to surround himself with positive energies, with people who are happy, who are positive. This could be why laughter keeps being confirmed as one of the most effective methods to heal disease, and even cancer. Laugher is known to release in the brain the same chemicals released by morphine as a natural opiate that helps stop pain.

This is how far our thoughts can influence our body and our state of health that laughter can curb cancer and stop its development, and tht negative emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, worry, distress, emotional pain and trauma, and any form of continued stress are known agents in the development and growth of cancer.

So what?s the solution? In the Science of Being Well Home Study Course, you will find many exercises and activities to bring yourself back to health, and techniques to retrain your thinking.

Emotions are neither good or bad. They are the stuff of life. They are what we?re made of. Emotions only become bad when they are not externalized. The body then maintains the imprint of the negative emotion, and with enough reinforcement due to the repetition of the stress or the stimulus of the negative situation, and the person quickly becomes sick.

Once we understand what makes us sick, and the part that we may play in our own illnesses, we then have tools and techniques at our disposal to return to health.

Visit www.thescienceofbeingwell.biz today to learn more on how you too can reclaim your health with simple techniques that you can apply immediately.

Unleash Your Subconscious Mind Power

Be ready for the richer, healthier, happier, more successful, love-filled life that you deserve, Click Here To Know More

If you want to learn the true art of mind power then it is of the greatest importance you understand 2 functions of your mind, and also how they interact with each other...

You only possess one mind, but it has 2 totally different functions - and the names generally used to distinguish these 2 different functions are as follows.

1, The Conscious Mind 2, The Subconscious Mind

There are many other terms used. But the 2 listed above, are the ones used most to represent the 2 main functions of your mind.

To help us better understand the conscious and subconscious mind, they may be compared to a tree and its roots...

* You're conscious mind being the tree, which helps you with daily situations like, decision-making, rational thinking, or just simply figuring out what to do and how best to do it.

When we think of 'me' we think of our conscious mind, the mind of which we are fully aware. This part of the mind makes decisions for us and directs our activities; it also analyzes, criticises and even commands us.

* You're subconscious mind being the roots; it deals mostly with the repetitions of learned behaviour. This can be very helpful for you, as it enables you to deal with situations much more easily the next time they arise.

Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel passes through the conscious mind and reaches the subconscious mind where it is stored.

Once you have learned how best to deal with the situation you find it much easier the next time around... this is because you are using information which is already stored.

For instance, once you have learned to ride a bike you don't have to consciously think about it anymore. This is because the stored information will come to you automatically the next time you get on your bike to ride it.

Just as if you were to learn where each letter on your keyboard is - you can now type without looking because you have formed a mental picture in your subconscious mind, of what the keyboard actually looks like.

The above are only two instances (of how the subconscious mind stores up relations of learned behaviour) and we are sure you would be able to find many more examples of this in your everyday life!

Information from the conscious mind gets past into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. It is said that everything you have ever seen, heard and experienced is perceived by your conscious mind, and then stored away into your subconscious mind as a memory.

Not only is this memory stored as the incident itself, but also any feelings which went with it at the time are also stored.

Your subconscious mind does not only store your memories and feelings. It is the maker of all the great ideas you have ever had, and is also the seat of your intuition and creativeness...

Your subconscious also keeps you going without you even being aware of it. It takes care of your bodily functions - your heart beat, and automatically runs such activities as, movement, language, visual perception and a whole host of other processes of your mind and body for you.

It also scans your mind for conflict and distress; assesses your environment for danger and threats, and relays and interprets perceptions, sensations, and feeling... last but not least it is also the storehouse of all your experience and decisions - everything which makes you the person you are.
